The Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD), located on the Gallaudet University campus, is a nationally recognized high school serving deaf and hard‑of‑hearing students. The school’s commitment to accessibility, innovation, and student empowerment shaped the vision for this project.

Fletcher provided comprehensive project management and relocation services to support a series of impactful upgrades across the campus, beginning with a full renovation of the library to create a more modern, flexible, and student‑centered learning environment. The project also introduced a new Think‑A‑Bit Lab—an interactive space designed to encourage creativity, hands‑on exploration, and STEM‑focused learning.

In addition to academic enhancements, the work delivered major ADA accessibility improvements throughout the facility, ensuring safer and more equitable movement for all students. Security upgrades further strengthened campus safety while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
