Fletcher was engaged by The University Club of Washington, DC to manage a comprehensive, multi‑phase renovation of its historic facility. The Club, founded in 1904, sought to modernize its infrastructure and member amenities while preserving the character that has made it a premier destination for fellowship, athletics, and intellectual exchange.

Phase I focused on the North side guest rooms in an $8.7 million effort that included demolition back to shell condition, new MEP systems, new furniture, fixtures, and equipment, a sprinkler system upgrade, and new centralized mechanical equipment for heat and hot water to improve efficiency. Event spaces were refreshed, and mechanical and plumbing systems modernized. Unforeseen structural issues required meticulous coordination; Fletcher worked closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve challenges without compromising schedule or quality.

Phase II extended renovations to the South side guest rooms and member amenities, continuing the balance of historic preservation and modern upgrades to ensure consistency across the property.

Phase III addressed public areas, including conference, dining, and athletic facilities. Fletcher coordinated the full project team—architects, engineers, contractors, and specialty vendors—to deliver improvements that elevated both functionality and aesthetics.

Across all phases, Fletcher’s leadership ensured seamless execution under demanding schedules, reinforcing the Club’s reputation as one of Washington’s most distinguished institutions by blending historic character with modern performance.
