The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) stands as a premier trade organization, championing both the creative vitality and economic strength of the nation’s most influential recording companies. Committed to protecting intellectual property and upholding the First Amendment rights of artists, the RIAA also safeguards the interests of the labels and distributors that form its membership.
During the relocation of the association’s headquarters, Fletcher assumed the role of project manager, providing the leadership required to assemble and guide a team with a focused mission: to honor the RIAA’s legacy of advocacy while advancing a vision that continues to shape the future of contemporary music.
This headquarters combines modern office and collaborative environments with meeting spaces, conference rooms, and huddle areas designed to foster productivity. At its core is a dramatic double‑height mezzanine stage, equipped with professional lighting and audiovisual systems rivaling the city’s premier music venues. Seating for 70 includes flexible, reconfigurable furniture, a sculptural plywood bleacher that doubles as a staircase, and high‑top tables on the third‑floor balcony. Directly above, the C‑suite overlooks the performance space, reinforcing leadership’s connection to the organization’s creative mission.
Unique program elements—a live performance venue and state‑of‑the‑art recording studio—required meticulous acoustic design to ensure sound quality and attenuation for both the workplace and neighboring tenants.
Delivered under a demanding schedule, the project met a tight deadline while maintaining the highest standards of design and execution.
